Poll: Trump's Approval Down By Double Digits Among GOPers Since 100th Day

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped by 11 points among Republicans since his 100th day in office, according to a poll by CBS News released Tuesday.

Seventy-two percent of Republican respondents to the poll approved of Trump’s job performance, while just 9 percent of Democratic respondents approved.

That statistic represents an 11-point drop from Trump’s job approval on his 100th day in office, when 83 percent of Republicans approved of his performance (and 10 percent of Democrats did the same).

Overall, 36 percent of respondents approved of the job Trump is doing, in the President’s lowest rating in CBS News polls since his inauguration.

The CBS News poll was conducted by telephone and surveyed 1,117 adults nationwide from June 15–18, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

New Poll Shows Dem Jon Ossoff Opening Up 7-Point Lead In Georgia House Race

Democrat Jon Ossoff leads Republican Karen Handel by seven points in the special election to fill an open U.S. House seat in Georgia, according to a new poll from local television station WXIA.

Ossoff earned 51 percent of voters’ support to Handel’s 44 percent support in the poll, which was released Monday and conducted by SurveyUSA.

SurveyUSA’s previously polled the race in April, before the initial jungle primary that sent Ossoff and Handel, the top two finishers, into a runoff. In that poll, Ossoff had a significant lead over his numerous Republican opponents.

Ossoff and Handel will face off in a June 20 runoff election in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District. Democrats are hopeful they can channel anti-Trump fervor into a win for Ossoff, given that Trump won the ruby-red district by just one point in November.

SurveyUSA polled 700 registered voters from May 16-20 by phone. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.
